2 c. cake flour (I use all purpose and it seems fine. Gluten free flour also works fine.)
1 ¾ c. sugar
¾ c. cocoa
1 ¼ t. baking soda
½ t. baking powder
1 t. salt
¾ c. vegetable oil
¾ c. milk
1 t. vanilla
½ c. milk
3 eggs
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour tube pan. Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, soda, baking powder and salt into large mixing bowl. Make a well and add oil, 3/4 c. milk, and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Add ½ c. milk and eggs. Beat thoroughly. Pour into pan. Bake 45 minutes or until it springs back when lightly touched. Remove from pan. When cool, frost with desired frosting or dust with powdered sugar. Delicious with chocolate whipped cream.
