Hamburger Green Bean Casserole

1 lb. hamburger
1 onion, chopped
2 cans tomato sauce
1 lb. green beans
2-3 lbs potatoes
add-ins for mashing potatoes – butter, cream, milk, salt
cheese to go on top

Brown hamburger with onion. Add tomato sauce.
Cook green beans in water. When they are tender, add to hamburger mixture. (Don’t try to cook the with the hamburger. The tomato sauce seems to make them not get soft.
Mash potatoes with add-ins to taste.
Put hamburger green bean mixture in an oven proof dish. Top with mashed potatoes and cheese. Heat in oven until it’s hot through.
